Opium poppies
« on: February 05, 2017, 07:56:55 am »

Any body given any thoughts to this flower as a pain reliever in times to come?
If so you should purchase you seeds while you can and they are available off evilbay australia.
Not getting into the legalities of it, but pain is a brain numbing problem for most.

Two high grade plant varieties are these two and attached is the item number.

222312447822 and  222312447823

There are many growing around the place and there does not seem to be a problem unless you are attempted to extract resin from the pods.
A few of these growing around your BOL GP will brighten the place up! :o ;D ;D

They sure are purdy, but I bet some one will get into trouble for it law wise. I think I will stick to tomato plants and other veggies.

My knowledge of happy plants is not something I have much experience with, and I think the green plant would be a safer bett. And I have read a few articles about it being made legal for personal use one day in some states. But the green plant has some very good medicinal properties over chemical solutions, and I am an advocate of natural products over chemicals. Hemp as a product has a history regarding it being demonized all because of money and it being such an easy grown product and has many uses, besides the happy part it can be used for many things, and used to be a huge part of the US economy years ago, but they demonized it hence any thing green plant is now restricted, shame as it has been proven to be a great pain killer, cure for some cancers.

I have never been into anything to lift or lower my mod, even alcohol, never made even that part of my life, and how many people die of alcohol as compared to a stoner dying from weed? But drink is freely sold and has been very destructive in our society, could it be legal due to the tax that is attached to it? Surely not  :o ::)

The old bushies used rum as a pain reliever. Get you a copper kettle, get you a copper coil ---hey, you could write a song about that.

I made a large copper reflux head that will run a 200 liter still base!
Plus I have another head I bought off evil bay as well as a stainless 20 liter and a copper reflux head on it.
Years ago I had 125 liters of double distilled booze all kegged up in oak.
Do not have the time much now and am not working somewhere that has free power and water for me to use!
Have to get back into it as it save shitloads of cash and I have all the gear onsite.
Have distilled remains of grape wine making etc as well, nothing much was ever wasted, lol. :o ;D ;D

Poppy flowers are LEGAL to grow as a flower, so there's no problem in growing them. "Green," will not help much for the severe pain of broken bones, etc, etc. Opium resin could be an option, if there are no pharmaceuticals available.
However, as mentioned, its very dangerous, so you would need to know exactly what you are doing. I plan to research this and find out how to use this safely. I would only use this in an extreme emergency, and if there were no other options.

As Paddler has said, Poppies are grown commercially here in Tassie with only a warning sign on the fence.

But somebody forgot to tell the poppies that they are not allowed outside the fence, as they pop up
in disused parts of my garden every Spring. This year more than ever.

I whipper snipper them down of course, after enjoying the flower show, but rather like the idea that
they could be a last resort source of pain relief, after SHTF. (Probably the very last if they are that deadly).

The media announce each year that deaths have occurred as a result of brews made from the poppies, but I wonder.
The media wouldn't lie would they? (for the greater good and all that).

Ha ha, I guess not.
I would imagine you can heat up the sap in a pan or the like and breath the smoke in.
Worked for thousands of years before the computer age.
Probably something on the net about cleaning the resin up for more expanded usage.
