No worries guys. I have been monitoring some of their channels but I have a break in my coax atm. I will get it sorted soon and be back on air. I had a yarn with a couple of Kiwis (in NZ), some boys from Melbourne and a bloke in Hawaii a while back . All on a home made bit of wire antenna. Unfortunately it fell out of its tree and rooted my coax :o

Antenna tuners are worth their weight in gold.

You can make just about anything resonant on any frequency.

I got one of these with my FT107 radio

Dunno if it's suitable for 27MHz (11 meters?) but on other freqs I'm hoping it will allow me to use a length of wire for an antenna.

Picture didn't show up.

Try attaching it to the post.

Picture is the Yaesu FC-107 antenna tuner.

It MIGHT work on the 11m band. I mean there is only 1 MHz difference between the two bands. Just put your SWR meter in between the radio/transmitter and your antenna tuner and watch the SWR as you adjust the knobs with the antenna tuner in the 10m band position.

The photo was visible yesterday and now it's not, the original is still there I just checked. Anyway you seem to know of the device.
