Flood crossing fences and field mushrooms
« on: October 19, 2017, 12:40:36 pm »

Went out this morning after feeding the cattle and pigs, chooks, kids etc etc.
Checking for washed away flood fences after the prolonged wet and 7 inches plus of rain.
All good as the rain has been slow and steady with the occasional fart and burp at times.
On the way home we decided to check the mushroom situation.
Got enough for a cookup.

Cooked them up with some butter, salt, pepper, a little white wine and some thickener for the fluid.

You should join Twitter and Farcebook Russ, with all these photos of your lunch you'd fit right in :)

Yep, you just need to know what to look for, a black art I am not privy to as yet.

Pm me as I need to talk to him about some medicinal trees and such.

Fyi the spores I set in the shaded garden bed delivered approx 1/2 kg of mushrooms
yesterday afternoon.
Has been a bit more overcast at times last few days and so hoping for some more.
I cut thestems off above ground as I have seen some writings about not pulling the stalk out of the growing fungal spore mass underground. No idea myself, but I will give it a go.
I always save any old mushrooms I find and spread the broken up gills around the orchard
to help build up the spore numbers for wetter times.
