Whats the bet that as house prices drop interest rates will rise?

Anyone wanting to buy should secure a loan now if they can but buy at the end of the crash, probably not possible though.

Major crash in house building and house prices coming up according to gov/financial experts
on ABC radio a couple of days ago.

Yep, on TV yesterday as well, new buyers hold off 'cause house prices are about to hit the fan.
It is the deflation spiral.  As prices drop people hold back on purchases which causes more price drop and more holding back.  Deflation is a monster that scares governments more than anything else.
Japanese house prices dropped by 60% when their economy crashed, and 2 decades later they have not got back to previous prices.

Hope rural properties do the same thing!
